Local Scholars Programme
Education for Indonesian children

The mission of Green School is "a community of learners making our world sustainable". The goal is to educate green leaders - students that are skilled to be change-makers - in their community, their village, Bali, and our world.

Two Initiatives, Same Purpose

Education for Indonesian students at Green School Bali

The Local Scholars Programme (LSP) and Kul Kul Connection (KKC) are two initiatives that have shared goals: develop Indonesian green leaders and promote integration between the expat and Indonesian communities to make our world sustainable. Green School recognises that social sustainability cannot be achieved without "being local".

The Programmes

The LSP offers individual up to 100% scholarships to outstanding Indonesian students to attend Green School full time, covering tuition, field trips, resources and extra-curricular costs, as appropriate. Currently there are 25 students in the LSP, expanding to 32 in 2016/17.

The KKC programme offers English and Sustainability Awareness after-school courses for Indonesian public school students from our village of Sibang Kaja. Over 250 village students participate in the KKC programme.

Why is it important?

Green School commits to the education and care of our scholars, with the expectation that they will graduate, at the completion of Grade 12 and go into the world as change-makers within their local communities, Bali, Indonesia and our world.

  • Educate Indonesian change-makers that can impact the World
  • Promote understanding of the Indonesian culture
  • Provide an opportunity for local children to access international standard education
