As we move into a new year, we wanted to pause and look back at what 2025 held for Green School Foundation. It was a year shaped by collaboration, learning, and steady progress across schools, communities, and universities. Many of the moments that mattered most did not happen loudly, but they carried meaning that continues to guide our work. Here are ten moments we’re proud of from 2025.
Across the island, farmland that once sustained families for generations is disappearing, replaced by villas, roads, and rapid development. For many young people, the unspoken message is the same, leave the land behind. For us at Green School Foundation, we believe the opposite. Education can do more than open opportunities, it can protect heritage, restore ecosystems, and keep families rooted in the places that have shaped them. That’s why our Agricultural University Scholarship includes a simple but meaningful commitment, families agree to keep their land, and use it for regeneration, not for sale.
The Green School Foundation recently collaborated with Green School students, educators, and SMPN 5 Abiansemal to launch an exciting new "Environmental School Project." This collaborative program aims to foster experiential learning and community engagement, promoting environmental awareness and social impact within the school community.
On the 13th of December of 2024, Green School Foundation, in collaboration with Bambu Indah, successfully hosted an agricultural workshop titled “Harvesting the Future: A Workshop for Next Generation Farmers” held at the Bambu Indah Resort in Gianyar, Bali. Recognizing the urgent need for more young agricultural leaders to ensure the sustainability of its agricultural sector in the future, we brought together young participants from the agricultural sector to learn valuable regenerative agriculture skills. Held at the renowned Bambu Indah, a boutique hotel renowned for its sustainable practices and thriving permaculture garden, the location provided an ideal and inspiring setting for this important initiative.
