A learning space is only as valuable as the learning that continues to happen within it. Through a three-year partnership with SMK Negeri 1 Petang and the support of Best Water Technology, Green School Foundation is demonstrating how long-term collaboration can transform a learning garden into a lasting environment for experiential education and sustainable agriculture.
Bali’s Water Begins Elsewhere Bali’s landscapes are shaped by water. From the highlands of Kintamani to the southern coastlines, rivers like the Ayung sustain ecosystems, agriculture, and communities across the island. Yet, much of the conversation around water focuses on where it is used, downstream, rather than where it begins. In reality, the health of these systems starts upstream. Understanding and protecting these upstream areas is essential, not only for environmental sustainability, but for the long-term resilience of communities that depend on them. This perspective also reflects a growing global emphasis on water stewardship, the responsible use and protection of water resources in a way that is socially equitable, environmentally sustainable, and economically beneficial.
In 2026, Green School Foundation and Green Camp Bali came together through a year-long collaboration rooted in a shared belief: meaningful environmental change happens through experience, community, and a deep connection to place. Both organizations work closely with young people and educators, creating spaces where sustainability is not only discussed, but lived. By working side by side, we are opening more opportunities for local students and communities across Bali to step into learning that happens outdoors, in real environments, and through real responsibility.
At the heart of the collaboration between BWT and Green School Foundation is a shared commitment to expanding sustainability awareness through everyday action. We believe that meaningful environmental change begins with daily habits, accessible infrastructure, and learning environments that make sustainable choices simple and visible. By integrating clean water solutions into schools and community spaces, this partnership helps turn sustainability from a concept into a lived practice for young people. Together with BWT, we are working to nurture a culture of refill, reduce reliance on single-use plastic, and inspire students to understand the connection between their choices, natural resources, and the health of their communities.
