A Year Lived in Ten Moments
A Year Lived in Ten Moments
As we move into a new year, we wanted to pause and look back at what 2025 held for Green School Foundation. It was a year shaped by collaboration, learning, and steady progress across schools, communities, and universities. Many of the moments that mattered most did not happen loudly, but they carried meaning that continues to guide our work.
Here are ten moments we’re proud of from 2025.
1.Waste Station Donations and Installations Through Environmental School Projects
In 2025, our Environmental School Projects continued through waste station donations and installations at SMPN 5 Abiansemal and SD No. 2 Abiansemal. These waste stations are more than infrastructure; they help schools build daily habits around waste separation, responsibility, and environmental awareness. By supporting schools at this practical level, we aim to make sustainability part of everyday learning rather than a one-time lesson.

2.Supporting a Mangrove Restoration Service Trip in Jembrana
We supported Bintang, a Green School Bali local scholarship student, as he transformed his capstone project into a community-led mangrove restoration effort in Jembrana. Through this service trip, mangroves were planted alongside the local community, turning academic learning into meaningful environmental action. This experience showed how student initiatives can grow beyond the classroom and create real ecological impact.

3.Professional Development for Agricultural University Scholars
Our agricultural university scholars had the opportunity to learn directly from inspiring agricultural leaders through Petani Muda Keren in Asah, Gobleg. This professional development experience exposed scholars to real-world farming practices, leadership stories, and the challenges faced by young farmers today. Learning from practitioners helped bridge academic knowledge with lived experience in the field.

4.Youth Environmental Conference 2025: Harmony in Action
In 2025, we hosted the Youth Environmental Conference with the theme “Harmony in Action,” attended by more than 95 young people. With the support of Green Camp Bali, participants experienced hands-on activities and became Green Campers for a day. The conference created space for dialogue, collaboration, and practical learning, encouraging young people to see sustainability as something they can actively shape.

5.Celebrating Prabha, Our First Graduate
We were proud to celebrate Prabha, our very first Year-End Research Scholar, as he officially graduated from Udayana University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture. His research, “Residues in Soil and Worm Feces in Vegetable Farming Land in Baturiti District, Tabanan,” explores the impact of chemical pesticides on soil health and vital organisms. Supporting Prabha’s academic journey reaffirmed our commitment to research that contributes to more sustainable agricultural practices.

6.IGNITE x Room4Dessert
One of the highlights of 2025 was IGNITE x Room4Dessert, a collaboration that brought together creativity, generosity, and shared values. We were honored to collaborate with Room4Dessert and Chef Will Goldfarb, whose team brought their distinctive approach to storytelling through food into a setting built around impact.
For this special evening, Room4Dessert stepped beyond their usual space to create a dining experience designed specifically for IGNITE. The result was an intimate and intentional journey that connected cuisine, culture, and purpose, offering guests a meaningful way to support sustainability education.
IGNITE 2025 was attended by more than 100 guests and featured over 50 auction items, with all proceeds directly supporting our Environmental School Projects and Agricultural University Scholarship Program. Beyond fundraising, the evening created a shared moment where community, art, and education came together in support of young people and the land they grow from.

7.Supporting New Agricultural Scholarships and Research
In 2025, we supported three additional full-ride scholarships and three scientific research projects for Indonesian youth pursuing agriculture majors. These opportunities allow students to deepen their studies while contributing knowledge back to the agricultural sector. Investing in both education and research remains central to building a resilient future for food systems in Indonesia.

8. Collaboration with Community Assist 2025
In 2025, we were grateful to collaborate with Community Assist, a Bali-based charity collective that supports local causes through community-led initiatives. On 15 November 2025, they organized a fundraising event on our behalf at Canggu Community School, with a clear intention to help support our Agricultural University Scholarship Program.
What made this collaboration especially meaningful was the shared belief behind it. By choosing to fundraise for agricultural education, Community Assist affirmed the importance of investing in young people who are committed to land stewardship, food systems, and long-term resilience. It reflected a growing understanding that education rooted in regeneration is not only relevant, but essential for the future.
During the event, our scholars were invited to showcase agricultural products they had planted and developed themselves. This moment allowed guests to see, firsthand, how education, land, and community support come together in practice. It was a reminder that regenerative education is not abstract. It is lived, learned, and shared.

9. Exploring Green Education at the Badung Education Fair 2025
At the Badung Education Fair 2025, we engaged with teachers and students to explore how education can become a stronger force for sustainability. Discussions focused on practical actions, from reducing waste to nurturing eco-friendly habits at school and at home. An open Q&A session allowed educators to share challenges and explore solutions together.

10. Collaborating with Organizations Through Environmental School Projects
Throughout the year, we collaborated with several organizations to spread sustainability awareness among local students through our Environmental School Projects. Working with partners such as Plastic Bank, Rekynd, Paper Pods, and Eco Games allowed us to bring diverse perspectives and interactive learning experiences into schools, strengthening the reach of sustainability education.

As we look back on these moments from 2025, what stands out most isn’t just the milestones themselves, but the way they were lived, with intention, curiosity, and care for community and the land. In a world that often moves fast, these efforts remind us of the beauty in slowing down, learning with humility, and tending the soil of possibility together.
Like a thoughtful gathering around a table, our work this past year was shaped not by speed or spectacle, but by steady hands, shared purpose, and a deep respect for the people and places we serve. These are the moments that shape not just a year, but the direction of a future grounded in regenerative education and collective care.
We are grateful for every mind that listened, every hand that helped, and every heart that chose to walk with us. They are the reason this work continues. Not as a trend, but as a lived practice rooted in community, connection, and long-term thinking.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
